Bluebell Time!

Sea of Blue

In the blink of an eye it’s suddenly the middle of May! Here in the garden the weather has been kind to us and April has left lots of seasonal charms behind her.

The forget-me-nots, tucked up in our large wooden presses, along with violas, buttercups, daisies… and the single bluebell I managed to grow, will soon be ready for sale.

Nearly there…

Once the pressing process is complete, the moisture has been fully removed from the flowers, it will be time to start creating our ‘one-of-a-kind’ real flower handmade greetings card designs again, a popular celebration of Springtime.

The Bluebell Wood

With nature so important to us, my daughter and I always try to make time for a walk on the wild side, this time taking the children to explore our local woods, transformed from a sea of green to an ocean of blue with the arrival of the bluebell, a perennial herb.

For conservation reasons we always try to remember to keep to the footpaths for once trampled on the bluebell, an ancient woodland indicator species, that is woodland that has existed continuously from the beginning of the 17th century, can take years to recover.
